Advanced Sporting Surfaces installs high quality softfall rubber for schools, councils, childcare centres, community spaces and residential projects across Australia. From site preparation through to the finished surface, we provide a complete solution designed around safety, durability and the way each space will be used.

What is Sotffall Rubber

Softfall rubber is a seamless, impact absorbing surface designed to help reduce the risk of injury from falls. Commonly installed beneath playground equipment and throughout active play areas, it creates a cushioned finish that is comfortable underfoot, easy to maintain and suitable for spaces used every day.

Each installation can be tailored to the layout, equipment and purpose of the area. With a wide range of colours, patterns and design options available, softfall rubber can create a safer surface while also making playgrounds and recreation areas feel more inviting, practical and visually engaging.

SBR Rubber (recycled)

SBR is made from recycled tyre rubber, ground down and rebonded into granules. It has a black base with a coloured layer applied over the top, which keeps the price down and still gives solid impact protection. The trade off is the colour coating, it can wear and fade with sun exposure over time, so it suits projects where budget is the priority over long term colour retention.

EPDM Rubber (new material)

EPDM is made from new, purpose manufactured rubber that's coloured right through, not just coated on the surface. That means the colour won't wear off or fade the way a coated surface can, even under constant sun. It sits at a higher price point, but the extra UV resistance and longer lifespan make it the pick for high traffic or long term installs, playgrounds, schools and pool areas especially.

Softfall Rubber FAQ's

Does soft fall rubber get hot in the sun?

Rubber surfaces can hold heat in direct sun, the same as most outdoor surfacing. Lighter colours and UV stable rubber help reduce heat build up, and shaded areas will always stay cooler underfoot.

What is soft fall rubber?

Soft fall rubber is a cushioned surface designed to reduce the risk of injury from falls in play and recreation areas. It's a safer, lower maintenance alternative to sand, bark chips or mulch, commonly used under play equipment and in high traffic outdoor spaces.

Why choose soft fall rubber over sand, bark or mulch?

Soft fall rubber doesn't need topping up, raking or replacing over time, and it won't hide sharp objects or debris the way loose fill materials can. It also holds its cushioning properties more consistently across the whole surface.

Where is soft fall rubber commonly used?

It's a popular choice for playgrounds, childcare centres, schools, pool surrounds, water parks and public parks, anywhere a cushioned, low maintenance surface is needed.
